³⁴ Jesus told him, “I tell you^[a] with certainty, before a rooster crows this very night, you will deny me three times.”

³⁵ Peter told him, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the disciples said the same thing.

³⁶ Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane. He told the disciples, “Sit down here while I go over there and pray.”
